Power of Zero

The Power of Zero is a retirement strategy developed by David McKnight through a series of best-selling books. It is also a marketing program that helps other financial advisors implement this strategy with their own clients. The Power of Zero website initially, only onboarded financial advisors looking to join the marketing program. Once onboarded, the rest of the process was taken offline and replaced with paper forms and interactions with David’s staff.

Obviously this process is disjointed and not very scalable, so we set out to improve this from the ground up.

An early decision was to move away from their current content management system and build on Laravel, a lightweight framework that would allow us more scalability for the future.

We also needed to create a learning library for the website that allowed users to access instructional media which had previously only been accessible through a 3rd party.

In continuing to streamline their process, we developed online solutions for all of their offline processes; this included online payments and web forms to replace paper forms.

The Power of Zero staff had previously been managing client data through Salesforce, however very inefficiently. Their customer data was also not centralized within Salesforce but spread across several other systems. We utilized multiple APIs to not only pass relevant information into Salesforce, but also pass metrics data to the website.

Conclusion

Since relaunching, their users doubled in 12 months compared to the previous 8 years.
